Mia Bakes

Mia Bakes Lots O' Cakes

So one of my besties popped round to see myself and the delectable Mia last Thursday evening... Mrs Rebecca Morris. Friend extraordinare and one of the best primary school teachers I know. Any child would be lucky to have her as their teacher and mentor. Plus she's crazy. She brought with her a cake mix - Percy Pig cake mix to be precise. Mayhem ensued.

Ensure your Percy Pig cupcake mix has all the necessary ingredients.
Mia, at this point, was preferring to play with her new ducky (courtesy of Mrs M here). Alas, we are bigger  and stronger than her and can make her sit with cake boxes all we like.  And take pictures.

Cream the butter and mix in 'cupcake mix' until blended.
It stayed lumpy, but hey, when you're 8 months old there's only so much mixin' a girl can do!
After 10 mins, loverly cakies.

Mia. Put the sweetie DOWN.
Now.
Mia.
(Should really stop taking pictures and remove the sugary delights from the tiny fist of my firstborn, right?)
Okay, so I should step in now. But she's just so darn cute!
Ahhh, the finished product!
Well done Miso, mischief managed.
Well kinda, I clearly must try harder.

Now I must point out, otherwise Becky will comment that this wasn't the full story, that my darling daughter farted regularly throughout the cake making process. To the point where Becky was nearly crying laughing. Luckily it's well understood in my household and within both sides of my family, that farts are funny, so it's all good Miso, better out than in!

Which reminds me, she also farted in front of Sarah the other day, whose response was a wonderful giggle and the comment 'she's such a lady'; that she is Sarah, that she is. Big massive grin.

Anyhoo - well done Mia for making your first cakes. And well done Becky for ultimately instigating the madness. Yeeha!

  2. T'was great fun making cakes with Els and Mia! I'd like to point out that it wasn't just Mia's farting that I was cry-laughing at... it was the comic timing of the little noises that entertained me! The cakes were scrummy - we must make some more another time! xxx
